Preparing for EPA Professional Certification Assessment
Understand what to prepare, use the guidance materials and approach your assessment with clear professional reasoning.
EPA professional assessment considers your understanding of responsible event practice, ethical conduct and practical decision making.
It is part of the EPA certification process, separate from an academic examination or course completion certificate.
What should you prepare for?
Review how you would handle everyday professional situations, including:
- Incomplete client briefs and changes to scope.
- Budgets, payments and financial accountability.
- Supplier coordination and service failures.
- Ethical concerns and confidential information.
- Safety risks and responsible event delivery.
Focus on explaining what you would do, why it is appropriate and what approval or evidence is needed.
Use the preparation materials
After your application is reviewed and certification payment is completed, you receive the preparation materials, including the Event Management Professional Practice Guide and self-assessment questionnaire.
Use these to identify gaps and practise your reasoning. The self-assessment is a preparation tool; it does not itself award certification.
